Television storytelling addictions

One of my favorite TV shows right now is called Homeland starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin as CIA agents who search the world to stop terrorists before they attack. U.S. Marine POW and possibly turned terrorist, Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis), returns home with gut wrenching PTSD and a heartbreaking amount of weight on his shoulders as he debates whose side he’s really on. This show is brilliant and, as one of my friends said, flawless.

Watch the first full episode of Homeland Season 1, Episode 1. If you watch the first 3:40 of the video, you will be as hooked as I am. I have never gotten addicted to a TV show after just the first 5 minutes. Great storytelling!

The first 7 minutes will give you an idea of  where the show will go. If you can’t stop watching episode after episode, like I couldn’t, I would recommend renting the discs from Netflix or Family Video. Get all the discs at once if you can because it will leave you with insomnia if you can’t finish it. Trust me …

Anyone care to share their thoughts on the show? Or who their favorite character is? Without a doubt, Mr. Saul Berenson is my favorite. He is one of those characters that will stay with me long after the show discontinues.
