Stephen King In Wisconsin
The Wuthering Heights Edition
A few years ago, I began collecting editions of Emily Bronte’s novel Wuthering Heights. Some were gifts from family and friends and others seemed to find me on their own.
My co-worker Kayla brought me this special treat that she found at Barnes & Noble!
Ain’t she a beauty?
Here are some of my other favorite editions:

Don't show it to me. I have no time for recreational reading until June."- Rory Gilmore
Rory Gilmore for Halloween
This year for Halloween I decided to go as Rory Gilmore, complete with a Sylvia Plath novel and a poor fan’s DIY Luke’s Diner mug!
Rory Gilmore is the ultimate bookworm with a passion for knowledge and journalism. I like to think that I was definitely a Rory in high school.
This morning something beautiful happened. I opened my bedroom curtains to see how far Spring has come before Tuesday’s potential snow erases all its hard work, when I saw movement coming from my neighbor’s window. (This isn’t going to be as creepy as it sounds.)
My neighbor is a 70(-plus)-year-old man who rarely leaves the house and never opens his curtains. I’ve seen him outside twice in the nine months I’ve lived here, so the movement caught my attention and I realized he was reading from the natural light of the sun coming in through his corner windows. I could see the top of his head, the tip of his nose and the entire book held up by his hands. I didn’t want to stare, but I was happy to see him exercising his brain, so I left and checked in later to see he was STILL on his reading journey.
He may not leave his house often, but he does go somewhere.
Oh, Happy Day
My dear friends and fellow readers.
Last year was a rough one, filled with ups and downs of grief and sadness, soul-searching and self-improving, health twists and turns, etc. But today was a wonderful day. I felt happy and secure — with me, myself and I.
This year I will turn 29, and I am without anything permanent, but yesterday I purchased my very own record player and receiver from Top Spins LLC and speakers from Music & Sports Collectors World (1980s). I bought it with my own money, so no one could purchase it for me and take it with them when they leave.
That in itself was therapeutic. Pure happiness emerged throughout the day as I spent it setting up the space and equipment, shopping for speaker cords and decorating the area all by myself. It was a Sunday Funday for just me and my record player. Today was exactly as it should have been.
Thank you to all my loyal followers on Facebook who take the time to also read my blog. Thank you for patiently waiting for a post from me that didn’t involve personal battles or vendettas against the world. I hope to write something more useful for you all in the near future!
You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy David Bowie, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, 1900s swing, The Eagles, Caroline Smith, Bob Dylan, She & Him, Rush (etc.) albums, which are basically the same thing.
